MASA TEXTILE INDUSTRY, 75 years of weaving passion into quality!

Tradition and passion for 75 years, is the claim that stands out on the company's portal www.masa.it. The textile company in Bolladello di Cairate, in the Busto Arsizio textile district, has long history, expertise and professionalism serving dining room table linens, bedroom linens and bathroom textiles. We dialogue with Cristina Salvati, head of the company. “The starting point,” she tells us, “is quality, which is declined in aesthetic beauty, in the quality of the fabric used, but also in its durability. The common thread is Made in Italy, its enhancement and the wide desirability that can be found in every corner of the globe. We aim for the sustainability of all our products, and to do this it is necessary to guarantee it along the entire supply chain, no segment excluded.”

As a company renowned for your high-quality table linens, can you tell us more about your product range?

Table linens for restaurants are more than just functional, they're an essential element of a venue’s identity, tailored to meet diverse aesthetic and practical needs. From classic or custom-designed tablecloths to colourful runners, toppers, and American-style placemats, each piece plays a role in setting the tone. And what about the napkin? Always in fabric, designed to match seamlessly with the overall table setting, whether it complements a full tablecloth or an elegant table runner. “There are no shortcuts,” notes Cristina Salvati of MASA. “High-quality table linen defines the standard of the location. Elegance, hygiene, and sustainability remain central to a restaurateur’s choice - values embodied by the enduring appeal of Made in Italy textiles”.

What official recognitions or certifications does your company hold to guarantee product excellence?

“At the heart of our commitment to quality and sustainability are the certifications that guide our production processes. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) stands as the leading international benchmark for sustainable textiles. It certifies garments and fabrics made from natural fibres like organic cotton and wool, ensuring they meet strict environmental and social criteria throughout the supply chain. Equally important is the Global Recycle Standard, which recognizes the vital role of recycling in building a sustainable production and consumption model. This standard helps reduce resource use, such as water and energy, while improving the quality and traceability of recycled materials.

To guarantee consistent excellence, we adhere to ISO 9001, the globally recognized standard for quality management systems. It ensures that every operational and support process is carefully planned, monitored, and continuously improved to meet our business objectives. Finally, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 provides independent certification for textile safety, from raw materials to finished products, verifying that our goods are free from harmful substances at every stage of production”.

But your products range goes beyond table linens, right?

“Our product range spans the entire hospitality sector. Bath linens, in particular, play a crucial role in creating a memorable guest experience. We provide high-quality towels, bathrobes, and complete bath sets that blend comfort, elegant design, and lasting durability. These products are perfect for hotels, wellness centres, B&Bs, and a variety of other accommodation facilities”.

And what can you tell us about your offerings in bedding?

“Bedding plays a crucial role in delivering comfort and satisfaction to guests in hotels and B&Bs. Our curated selection of hotel bedding combines elegance, durability, and softness, from sheets to duvet covers. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to offer guests a distinctive sensory experience that enhances their stay”.

Would you like to add a final consideration?

“During the weekend of May 23-25, our company participated to the convention of EXPODETRGO INTERNATIONAL 2026, held in Maranello, Modena. A highlight of the event was a visit to the Ferrari Museum, where the legacy of Made in Italy came vividly to life. The story of Enzo Ferrari’s rejection of a 1960s acquisition deal with Ford, due to a clause that threatened to strip Ferrari of its Italian identity and creative autonomy, resonated deeply. Ferrari famously tore up the agreement, choosing to preserve its heritage and independence. This defining moment serves as a powerful symbol for MASA, underscoring the company’s commitment to defending the spirit of Made in Italy on the global stage”. •
