/ Magazine / TESSITURA PEREGO: quality, elegance, and style at the service of Ho.Re.Ca. and laundries since 1929

MARZIO NAVA
The year 1929 is historically remembered as a fateful one, marked by the Wall Street stock market crash in New York, which triggered a global economic crisis that, like a domino effect, reverberated across nations between the two world wars. But it was also the year when Perego, grandfather of Andrea Perego, laid the foundations for the production of household linen and clothing. Today, Tessitura Perego Srl stands as one of Italy’s leading textile manufacturers, specializing in premium linen collections for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector and industrial laundries.
Upon entering the company’s premises located in Cisano Bergamasco, we are greeted by Andrea Perego, head of the eponymous weaving mill. His office adjoins the Style office, the company’s creative hub responsible for developing new collections and garment designs.
“Our products are offered almost exclusively to industrial laundries, enabling them to meet the demands of their end clients. These laundries communicate the specific needs of their customers such as: hotels, spas, and restaurants, and we focus on delivering tailored, highquality solutions. Our range includes table, bed, and bath linens, all presented in diverse collections that combine superior quality with a strong commitment to eco-sustainability”.

“We have strategically prioritized maintaining an extensive ready-toship inventory. Orders received by 11 a.m. are dispatched the same afternoon, embodying our commitment to just-in-time delivery. This approach requires a significant investment, as we carefully define collections and keep them stocked in our warehouse. In addition, we offer a range of customization options: napkins embroidered with personalized wording, sheets featuring piping and hotel logos, and exclusive high-end requests crafted from pure linen, premium cotton, jacquard, and more. For our table linens, we emphasize the use of highquality yarns, including pure linen and fine cotton”.
“A growing trend in bedroom design is the preference for white bedding without bedspreads, which has largely fallen out of use. Design trends tend to be cyclical, encompassing elements such as weaving techniques, yarn types, and sober colours. Shades like white, ivory, and light grey, with bedroom linens crafted using fabrics similar to those employed in fine shirting. Frequently, clients request that duvet covers be coordinated with the wallpaper in their bedrooms, an approach exemplified at the Villa Cortina Palace located in Sirmione, where art, charm, and elegance come together to create a distinctive and harmonious ambiance”.

“Fashion is a constantly evolving industry, where trends play a crucial role in shaping a successful collection. Staying up to date with the latest directions is essential, but equally important is the ability to interpret them creatively, designing garments that not only align with the collection’s overall concept reflect the spirit of contemporary fashion. Recently, we’ve introduced a women’s bathrobe with a sophisticated design, from the neckline to the flared sleeves and carefully adjusted length, which has been received with enthusiastic response. In the hospitality industry, where restaurants and hotels often invest millions in architects and interior designers, we contribute by further enhancing the environment. At the table, aesthetics must align with hygiene and ecosustainability. Our work involves close collaboration with professional laundries, to whom we provide durable, high-performance yarns that maintain quality through rigorous washing and sanitization processes”.

PEREGO ECOLINE
Weaving today, for a greener tomorrow
“Approximately 60% of our turnover is generated from table linens, with the remaining share coming from our bed and bath collections. In recent years, we’ve seen a shift: while our focus was once almost entirely on table linens, our range has now evolved into a more balanced and diversified offering. For the table, we’re introducing new colour palettes and, notably, spotlighting our eco-friendly line, Ecoline. This collection is the result of in-depth research by Tessitura Perego, driven by a commitment to a more sustainable and responsible future. The yarns used in Ecoline are derived from recycled plastic bottles, which are transformed, through a careful, low-impact process, into high-quality fibres used for textile production, primarily designed for table settings.”

“Our core mission is to deliver high-quality garments tailored for hotels and restaurants. From warping to weaving, every step of the production process is meticulously managed to guarantee excellence in every product. Our Style and Development office continuously innovates with colours, fabrics, sizes, and refined cuts, crafting matching and customized linens designed to elevate and harmonize hospitality environments”. •
