/ Magazine / TESSILTORRE, Made in Italy quality on your table (and not only)
Passion can be seen and touched; it is an important part of the sensorial perception. Restaurant, bedroom, and bathroom. Dressing and embellishing a table remains the main mission for Tessiltorre. The goals are clear and they perfectly fit in the framework of uncompromisable values for the company: product quality, Made in Italy, and product customization. The framework of values includes respect and care for the entire supply chain. Environmental sustainability cannot simply be an expression that attracts approval and attention. Consistent behaviours and business practices are required.
Designing and producing fabrics that respond in terms of design, quality and technical characteristics to the market demands and in compliance with the principles of sustainability (environmental, social and governance); collaborating and making agreements with suppliers aimed at optimising the relationship in terms of time, costs and quality of supplies; setting up and maintaining an organisational structure where responsibilities and tasks are clear, operational and aimed at the continuous improvement of the integrated management system, promoting the consultation and participation of workers and their representatives. Pursue corporate effectiveness and efficiency by involving and motivating personnel through information, training and specific professional updates.
We interview Maurizio Calloni of Tessiltorre who emphasises that “the so much discussed circular economy, when it comes to table linen, should be a logical consequence of a table arranged with a Made in Italy tablecloth. In the common perception of a person arriving from a foreign country, Made in Italy is seen in a wide-ranging logic, they are attracted by a unique wine and food culture that is inseparably linked to a table set with quality tablecloth, fine dishes, glasses and cutlery, a table layout that makes the difference.
The quality of the final product is just a small part of the efficiency that we strive to guarantee throughout the entire supply chain, including the special relationship that we create with our customers. But let’s step further and understand directly the relationship that is flourishing between the customer and the manufacturing company.
Matteo Sangiani, partner and sales manager at Val Wash laundries, explains the type of relationship established with Tessiltorre: “we have tied a close collaboration because we need a highly versatile Italian product.
By versatility, we mean that the supplier must be able to offer a range of customizable products tailored to my client: fabric, colour, design, special formats, and packaging. We must always be open to any solution, continuously differentiating ourselves from our competitors. This working method allows us to be consultants to our final client and to be able to respond directly to their needs. This is why we do not consider ourselves simple suppliers to the final customer but rather partners and collaborators. At Val Wash, we work by batch rather than keeping stocks, and in this working method lies the added value of product customization.
We have over 700 customers between restaurants and hotels, we work with several product lines: 5 for bed linen, 6 for bath linen while for tablecloths “from zero to infinity”, 100% cotton, linen and linen blends, without using polyester. We have always aimed to maintain a certain quality guarantee for both, the more economical items and for the top range. To be clearer, we have never adopted a 20/24 sheet cloth but we have always opted for 31/27 for bed sheets.
We have three industrial facilities: one in Temù in Val Camonica near the Trentino border, one in Gavirate in the province of Varese, and finally one in Tirano in Valtellina. Our operational area includes the provinces of Trento, Brescia, Bergamo, Como, Varese, and Milan, but we also have clients in important places like Saint Moritz. The pre-Alpine and Alpine regions, including the lakes, are a thriving market for us.
How can we optimize the service? Besides the improvement, we need to focus on maintaining the excellent level we have achieved, and thus the real challenge with our friends of Tessiltorre is to maintain this standard of quality,” concludes Matteo Sangiani.
