In 1948, Nuova Folati was founded as a sole proprietorship by Salvatore Cafaro. The business was limited to the sale of detergents in the communities and small laundries sector: neither the modern dry-cleaning nor the industrial laundry were born yet. In 1959, following the pattern of Northern Europe, the sole proprietorship transformed into a company capable of offering to the fresh laundry entrepreneurs a complete range of products, accessories, and machinery necessary for the development of their businesses. In the early 1970s, the industrial laundry sector has emerged. As the industry expanded, Nuova Folati has distinguished itself by introducing new products, such as spring base paddings and external covers for flatwork ironers.

In 1999, Nuova Folati moved to its modern headquarters in Fiano Romano. It certified its processes by obtaining ISO-9001 certification, confirming the value of its services and the importance of quality in the company’s policy. In 2010, Nuova Folati began its journey in Europe, always with the aim of looking ahead to expansion in a market that embraces concepts such as energy savings, specialization in ironing, and technical consultancy. In 2020 a new decade is inaugurated with the corporate transformation, becoming a joint-stock company, a new seal of guaranteed reliability supporting our partners in Italy and Europe.

Today, it is an important company that boasts a team of over 50 people amongst offices, production, research & development, technical assistance, and marketing, with a widespread direct sales network for industrial laundry and a network for public and private healthcare. The headquarters in Fiano Romano has been extended and renovated, housing offices, logistics, and production. It now covers an area of over 5.500 sq.m., a completely eco-sustainable structure.

Nuova Folati’s focus on Green (achieving ISO 14001 environmental certification in 2021) is also reflected in its activities: it continues to focus on research & development, aiming to anticipate the market needs and proposing solutions that respect the environment, promote energy saving, and foster innovation.

It designs and patents products such as the revolutionary Green Power ironing cover, the Spider Clean cleaning accessory, and the NEST STS condensate drain. All autonomous production. Years of experience, a carefully selected range of products, and a team of high-profile experts, essential in the diagnosis phase, allows the company to offer its customers professional interventions for the optimization of the ironing lines aimed at maximizing productivity, output, energy savings, consumption control, and innovation.

Nuova Folati has an extensive offer that covers various fields, managed by a highly experienced team with the aim to provide the right answers and solutions for the market: the world of labelling and customization with Thermopatch (now Avery and Dennison), the HIP Bed System project with its high quality level, the GAP System for producing custom-made tapes for folding and feeding machines with a modern tracking and repeatability system, the WX Range that includes a series of products to ensure the cleanliness and proper lubrication of the ironing surfaces, a wide range of padding clothing designed and manufactured to meet all ironing conditions, the Green Power together with Max Press spring base for the optimal calibration of the flatwork ironer, a thermal line selected for specific use in the laundry whose main item is the NEST STS steam traps, specialized RFID tracking system for Private Healthcare under the Argo Team brand, logistics solutions for linen handling (overhead bags, transport bags, trolleys, covers).

The consultancy and technical support that Nuova Folati offers, placing the customer’s needs at the forefront, remain the cornerstone of the company’s philosophy. In 2020, it acquired IMAT Srl, a leading company in the field of Technical Assistance for industrial laundries, with a high specialization in ironing lines. New skills and professionalism, while maintaining its usual style. The technical department has been consolidated, with a special focus on Research & Development.

The present offering of Nuova Folati includes now specific expertise in the field of thermal oil/gas flatwork ironers, providing maintenance, control checks, and even optimization through the innovative SAI System. We are focusing a lot on human resources. Professionalism is the goal and it is systematically achieved through specific training programs: technicians, area managers, product managers, customer care representatives, account managers, logistics personnel, purchasing agents, marketing staff, and production workers, all share the company’s customer-oriented vision. The training of each employee is constantly updated and renewed. The company’s experience of over 75 years has been meticulously gathered to create a training tool: the NF Academy.

Today, Nuova Folati proposes the NF Academy also as a training tool for the market. Courses such as “In-depth studies on cleaning and waxing methods for ironing lines”, “Steam traps and energy savings” and “Technical bedding for healthcare facilities” are now part of the offering. Nuova Folati is looking forward to the future by consolidating its role as a partner for industrial laundry entrepreneurs, both in Italy and across Europe.
